Heraclitus Knew A Thing Or Two

There is nothing permanent except change. – Heraclitus

If you’ve ever read one of my blog posts before, I assume it is fixed in your mind, like the day you met your soul mate or had your first cup of Darjeeling tea.Change is good and necessary. And survivable, with right tea

So, you will have noticed, something’s changed.

As I sit here with my standard cup of Lord Petersham to greet the day,the blog looks as different  to me as it does to you.

Yes indeed, this blog has a new look, and a new title. Let’s take the latter first.

With Lady Devotea venturing into tea blogging, the time is nigh to correct a mistake from several years ago. Because my on-line presence is so intertwined with this blog, there is in many people’s mind, no difference between “Robert Godden” and “The Devotea”.

Back before we were actually a tea company, that was more or less true. But for the last three years, “The Devotea” has been used for our range of teas, and as such, represents the equal partnership of two individuals.

Referring to Anne as “Lady Devotea” is useful in specifying it is her good self that is under discussion, but “The Devotea” is still ambiguous.

– So my blog is now “Lord Devotea’s Tea Spouts”.

This does not mean to suggest that I have been elevated to a peerage just yet, though this is clearly an oversight that should be corrected at some stage.

And the new look? Well, that’s tied up with the makeover our online stores are currently undertaking. Whilst there is more to do on them, we felt it was quite disconcerting to move between the two and have such a jarring contrast of style. So, my old brown theme has been retired, not without a tinge of sadness.

I’ve just remembered, I didn’t brew Lord Petersham this morning. I made a cup of our own Jim’s Caravan.

Oh well, a change is as good as a holiday.
